Starting off as a truck washing facility in Maydon Wharf, Durban, in early 2006, company founder and current owner Klint Mills provided a washing service for trucks, road tankers, and earth moving equipment. An associate who was involved in importing a user and environmentally friendly multi-purpose degreasing product opened the door to the start of what would become Powasol’s own product range. The washing facility was eventually closed and from there Powasol was born in 2011 and they’ve never looked back, expanding into a larger range of chemical products from various manufacturers.

At first, Powasol’s brand was built on the back of South African Motocross, sponsoring the Bad Boy Honda Team and traveling South Africa, following the team, and washing bikes at the races. Powasol then branched off supporting Team Jeep under Max Cluer and Clint Morck, allowing the brand to quickly expand across South Africa and become the #1 recognised motorcycle care brand. Powasol then expanded this awareness into the bicycle market by providing a bike washing service at most Mountain Bike events around the country, including World Championship and Enduro events. With the growing focus on Powasol, the company expanded into event management with the creation of Powasol Eventing which hosted various extreme Enduro events across KwaZulu-Natal, including the mammoth task of running South Africa’s National Enduro Series for 2015.

Apart from the ongoing marketing and eventing that has become the backbone of the Powasol brand name, the exceptional line of products has expanded and gone from strength to strength in many other industries and applications including the motor trade, earth moving, building, and general cleaning and lubricating of almost anything under the sun. Our main chain store distributor is the Build it group, but you’ll find the product line and Powasol point-of-sale stands across the country in many motorcycles, bicycle, and hardware outlets, and recently in some Spar stores.
